The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pro is a handset which since its initial inception in October 2011, has grown to become a popular choice with the consumer. The unit is a compact and lightweight unit which delivers impressive performance and which is powered by a 1 GHz Scorpion processor combined with the gingerbread version of the android operating system.

The handset comes with a 3.7 inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive display screen which provides touch screen functionality combined with scratch resistant glass. The screen itself can display up to 16 million colours within a 480 x 854 pixels screen resolution, with the added benefit of the Sony mobile Bravia engine. Navigation is provided by the timescape user interface, whilst the handset comes with accelerometer and proximity sensors to automate various tasks.

The handset has an internal memory capacity of 1 GB, of which 320 MB is user available, however most packages include an 8 GB card. This card is utilised within the micro-SD card slot, which can also be utilised to increase the available memory capacity up to 32 GB if desired. In terms of connectivity the unit comes with Internet access by virtue of its own 3G connection, whilst also offering the alternative access to available Wi Fi hotspots, in addition to the ability to create its own hotspot. Blue tooth, Micro USB as well as GPRS and EDGE connectivity are also included as standard.

The unit comes with an 8.0 megapixel camera that provides an impressive range of additional features such as touch focus, face and smile detection, auto focus as well as video calling capability and an LED flash. The camera can also be utilised to record high-quality 720 pixel video, with the benefits of continuous autofocus and video light. The unit also comes with a secondary VGA quality camera. Satellite navigation, a stereo FM radio with RDS, and MP4/MP3 multimedia player as well as an organiser, voice memo facility and predictive text input are additional features also included within the unit
