Samsung Announces The Galaxy GrandDec 24th, 2012 | By phoneslimited | Category: Telecommunications
The ever expanding Samsung Galaxy range of Android smartphones has recently been added to with a brand new handset. The Samsung Galaxy Grand has recently been announced, boasting a number of exciting features.
The first thing you will notice about the Samsung Galaxy Grand will be its large touchscreen, which measures 5 inches and boasts a WVGA resolution. The screen is an indication of what we can expect from the price of the phone. Because it does not have super AMOLED capacitive technology or a high definition resolution, the phone is unlikely to command the same price as say the Galaxy Note 2 or the Galaxy S3, but rather looks likely to offer a large screen device with a more affordable price tag.
While the Galaxy Grand is by no means a flagship smartphone, it still boasts a number of impressive features found on many high end devices. For example, the phone comes with an 8 megapixel camera, with a 2 megapixel front facing camera also. It comes with 8 GB internal storage which can be expanded using the integrated microSD slot, a whole host of connectivity options and an ample 2100mAh battery capacity. While it does not have a quad-core processor like its Galaxy Note 2 or Galaxy S3 counterparts, it still has plenty of computing power thanks to its 1.2 GHz dual-core processor which will undoubtedly provide pleasing performance. In terms of software, the Samsung Galaxy Grand has the latest instalment of Android Jellybean v4.1.2 and has many of the Samsung software features found in its higher end counterparts such as direct call, S-Voice, smart alert and multi window mode.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand is clearly a mid range offering, bringing the large screen format without the high price tag you would expect from a phone with such a large display. It is likely to be much more affordable than its higher end counterparts, and competing devices such as those recently launched by HTC with 5 inch screens and 1080p resolutions.
Samsung has not yet released any information regarding pricing for availability of the phone, but once we know more than be sure to keep you updated.
